Public Hearings

Public hearings will be held daily from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, April 26 to May6, 2011 at the Competition Tribunal hearing room on the 6^th floor at 90 Sparks Street, Ottawa, Ontario.  Final arguments will be heard on May 26, 2011, from 930 am to 5:00 pm. 

Below is the order of appearance and the indicative allocation of time for the presentation of witnesses for each of the Parties participating in the hearings.  Further details on the scheduling for witnesses is available by clicking here.

• The Department of Justice-3.5 days (from 9:30 AM, April 26 to 12:30 PM April 29);
• The Silicones Environmental, Health and Safety Council-3.5 days (from 1:30 PM, April 29 to 5:00 PM May 4); and,
• The Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association-1 day (May 5).

The Board of Review intends to call one witness (via videoconference), Dr. Steve Dungey, Environment Agency, United Kingdom, on May 6th.

Simultaneous translation will be available throughout the hearing.  The hearings will also be transcribed with copies available from the Board of Review 30 days following the hearing.  For those wishing more timely access to verbatim transcription services, please contact:
